Description of Services: Outpatient care for people with complex hand injuries and post-operative cases * services provided by physiotherapists and occupational therapists with specialty training * focus is to return patients to their functional level of performance in their necessary activities of daily living
  • therapists will work with patients one-on-one to develop an individualized treatment program
  • treatment may include custom orthoses, therapeutic exercises, manual therapy, and patient education * custom orthoses are not covered by OHIP, so a fee will apply
  • patients must be fully committed to engaging in therapy and their home exercise program

Application: Referrals from Halton Healthcare plastic and orthopedic surgeons * external physicians * all referrals will be triaged by the Hand Therapy team
