Description of Services: A child may need an operation called a tonsillectomy to take out the tonsils or an adenoidectomy to remove the adenoids * these operations can be done separately or at the same time to reduce the infections and to improve the child's breathing * an otolaryngologist or a surgeon specialized in problems with the ear, nose and throat will do the operation * for all surgeries, patient is required to attend a Pre-Admission appointment to prepare for surgery. This includes speaking with a nurse who will arrange any blood tests, x-rays or other tests that may be required
